Charity of the Year
If you can, please support BDAA as your Charity of the Year. We’ve had some tremendous support over the years from groups, organisations and businesses.
We can offer support with marketing materials, posters, publicity support and we would be delighted to offer free dementia awareness sessions and practical support at any fundraising events.
Our BDAA Offers sheet tells you a little more about our work and the support we offer.
As a small local charity, we very much rely on donations and volunteers to enable us to support people living with dementia and educate the communities of Bristol about dementia.
Here’s a little bit about us:
- BDAA was founded by Tony and Barbara Hall after Barbara’s dementia diagnosis. Together, they began supporting and educating people about dementia. Barbara’s legacy lives on with the work that we do every day. We have a passionate trustee, volunteer and small staff team. BDAA is committed to empowering the voices of people with dementia – many of our team have direct dementia experience. You can read more about our team here.
- Our website and Facebook page give more information about the charity. Our BDAA Offers sheet gives you an overview of our projects and how we support people. You can also read our latest newsletter here.
- BDAA runs its Happy Days memory cafés throughout the month – we have entertainers come in each month and provide refreshments and a chance to relax and chat for 2 hours. Volunteers are most welcome at all our cafes.
- In October we host Dementia Aware Awards, you might be interested in going for an award?
- We’d love it if you could get involved in our ongoing fundraiser Dunk a Donut. This is the chance to have a cuppa and donut (no need to dunk!) and/or dunk a colleague/friend for dementia!
