Birthday celebrations!

It was on the 9th July 2013 that a public meeting was held at Westbury Baptist Church asking the question “Is Bristol a Dementia Friendly City”?

As a result of that meeting, BDAA was launched.

Since the launch, Westbury Baptist Church has provided tremendous support to the charity and also the joint run Happy Days Memory Café (which will celebrate its 5th birthday in November).

During lockdown, Happy Days has run a teleconferencing session on Fridays at 2.00. and also a pom-pom dancing session over Facebook.

Our BDAA birthday celebrations will be postponed until our AGM in September (Lockdown easing permitting), but the trustees and anyone who would like to join us, are having a virtual celebration on Friday 10th July over Zoom when we have invited Michael Loader to run a short story-telling session.

Anyone can attend and celebrate with us at 2pm on 10th July. If you would like to be there, please email Sam on office@bdaa.org.uk for the link (this is for security and GDPR reasons).

You can see Michael’s latest Facebook stories here.
