We have obviously postponed a lot of our plans but they are simply postponed until they can start up again. For now, we’re working hard catching up on all those things we never had time for! We’re also offering our work online and sharing as many resources as we can.
BDAA is an educational charity. We have two main areas of focus:
Happy Days Memory Cafe – usually we meet on the first Friday of the month for fun and laughter along with tea and homemade cake cenforce 150 mg supplements. We can’t meet right now so we’re having phone conversations with all of our participants. Happy Days volunteers are phoning everyone each week to check they are ok and see if they need anything. We are also offering, in collaboration with Alive, telephone conferences each week. We’ve also just started offering Happy Days online too – check out our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/happydaysmemorycafe/
Raising awareness of Dementia throughout Bristol. We do this is a variety of ways such as Dementia Awareness sessions (an hour long), Dementia Awareness workshops for those who have direct contact with people living with Dementia (these are three hours long), attending information events and hosting our own stalls, being ambassadors for Dementia Awareness throughout the city. We also help with building audits to ensure that buildings are as Dementia Friendly as possible (this includes accessibility, signage etc)
All that we offer is free and we rely upon the generosity of our supporters, organisations and charitable trusts to fund our work. Obviously we can’t do face-to-face right now but we are still offering all of the above in an online capacity. Please get in touch with us on office@bdaa.org.uk for further information.

CALL TO ACTION
If you are furloughed and/or have 10 minutes to spare please do become a Dementia Friend. You can do this easily online – please do let us know if you have done this by filling in this online form so that we can keep track of the numbers. There are over 500,000 people living and working in Bristol, let’s see how many can become Dementia Friends and support the 4,500+ people living with Dementia in the city. The short video explains a little more about Dementia Friends. Please do share this with your friends, family and work colleagues. Let us know if your organisation becomes Dementia Friendly this way so that we can mention it in our updates and share online – or even better share on social media and tag BDAA (links to the right).
Alternatively, we can offer a limited number of these Dementia Awareness sessions and workshops online. Please get in touch with us on office@bdaa.org.uk to book.

Did you know we offer free Dementia Friendly Building Audits? If your premises is currently empty now might be a good time to check that it’s as Dementia Friendly as possible. Drop us a line for our Audit sheet which you can take around the premises. Then if you need additional email support or an online meeting let us know. Once completed we can send you a sticker to display and add you to our Becoming Dementia Friendly Organisations List on our website
As a small local charity, BDAA relies completely on the generosity of our supporters. In this unprecedented time we need your support even more. Please do nominate us for your organisation’s support or use your Co-op card, shop online via Give As You Live (no cost to you) or choose BDAA with Amazon Smile. We can also receive donations via our website along with gift aid to increase the value of your kind gift.
